I am a portrait photographer based in Exeter

I offer professional portrait photography services to businesses, families, couples and individuals in Exeter, from magazine, website and catalogue shoots, to model headshots, family portraits and engagement shoots. I live close to Exeter and frequently work with clients throughout the South West.

Portable Studio

If you have a space in your home or place of work that is large enough, I can travel to you with my portable studio and professional lighting equipment. Or you are welcome to come to my home in Axminster, Devon, just a short direct train ride from Exeter, where we can use the studio as pictured to get high-quality portrait shots. Tea, coffee and biscuits gauranteed, of course.

Working in Exeter, we have many beautiful parks, a historical city backdrop, and the Devonshire countryside and beaches within a short drive. Whether you prefer Haldon Forest, Northernhay Gardens, a beautiful Devonshire-beach or Exeter Cathedral Green, I’m happy to work with you to find the perfect location for your portrait photography shoot.

Frequently Asked Questions About my Portrait Photography Services

  • I use full-frame, 24-megapixel, professional cameras and have two cameras with me at all times. I use a range of fast, professional lenses with constant aperture, along with a variety of professional lighting and studio equipment.

  • I regularly work with clients on professional photography projects in Exeter but also travel frequently throughout Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. I also often work with clients throughout the UK, providing professional photography services in London, the West Midlands, Bristol and even further afield, sometimes working oversees. Depending on the distance, I may ask my clients to cover my travel expenses, although I will always disclose this upfront and will never charge an upfee.

  • I will provide your photos via a downloadable online album, for which I will email you the link. If required, I can provide a USB stick containing the files, at extra cost. If you require physical prints, I am happy to discuss this further.

  • Images will be edited and delivered to you within 7 days of your photoshoot. I am able to provide images within 24 hours, or on the same day, for an additional cost, if required.

  • It really depends on your needs and the project brief. Sometimes, it's possible to get the perfect shots really quickly. Whereas, other times it requires a little more persistence to get shots you're satisfied with. We'll discuss your needs before and during the portrait shoot to ensure we hit the nail on the head and deliver photographs you love.

  • In order to capture shots you're happy with, it's important you wear something you're comfortable in for your portrait photoshoot. Of course, your clothing depends largely on the brief and your requirements. At the end of the day, this is your portrait shoot, so it's entirely up to you, or your stylist, what you choose to wear.

  • Of course, it depends entirely on the look you’re going for. If you want a more modern backdrop, we could shoot in the city centre, perhaps in Princesshay Shopping Centre. If you prefer a historical backdrop, Exeter’s Cathedral Green and the surrounding historical buildings provide a great environment to shoot in. Or we could opt for a green, outdoorsy, more relaxed feel, choosing to shoot in one of Exeter’s many parks, or even venture out of the city to Haldon Forest.
